整串桐花如流水般開滿整個樹梢，也是很看好。
台灣的油桐樹，屬於木油桐，學名叫Aleurites montana,台灣原本不產油桐，但在日殖時代，油桐具有高經濟價值，因而由日殖時期引進，鼓勵人民砍掉相思樹改種油桐樹。
油桐樹的果實含有油脂及毒素，提鍊後可做為燃料用油或是亮光漆之用，如將油中的有毒物質提出後，亦可做為食用油。
